Ash is what TLs were originally made of — back when guitars came with sawdust still in the corners. The TL Style Ash DIY Guitar Kit honors the recipe: ash body, two single coils, classic three-way, and the snappy, articulate tone that built country music.
Bolt-on neck with frets and dual-action truss rod, fixed bridge, predrilled and routed, pre-sanded, single-coil pickups wired in the original simple-but-perfect TL layout. Ash brings articulation, brightness, and a little extra bite — the secret ingredient in countless famous chicken-pickin' tones. Pre-sanded so finishing is mostly stain, lacquer, and patience.
Designed and shipped from the USA. Every kit is backed — defective parts replaced free, no return needed, no apology emails required. Build your own guitar in the original recipe and hear the difference wood makes. Once you've played an ash TL, alder TLs feel like roommates.
Predrilled and routed body
Neck with frets and dual-action truss rod installed
Bridge and turning hardware
Pickups, Pots, and Wiring Components
All wood parts are pre-sanded, ready for your final sanding and a finish to be applied.
Some bodies and/or necks may have binding in place
Expect the nut to be stupidly high. Make sure your bridge goes on straight and don't depend on the pre-drilled pilot holes. Bridge pickup cavity not big enough for a tele bridge pickup which makes zero sense considering the neck pickup cavity is routed for a goddamn humbucker. Also mine came with an extra wiring cavity going to the neck for absolutely no reason.

Imperfect, but workable
The screw holes for mounting the bridge are out of place, well towards the tail from where they should be. It's a simple enough problem to fix, but be vigilant. Otherwise, all looks to be in order with this kit. Simple enough project to do with a kid. The delivery was prompt, and without issue.
