Burl ash veneer is what the kids call "a serve." The TL Burl Ash Style Build Your Own Guitar Kit drops that wild grain pattern over a basswood body, pairs it with two single coils, and lets you finish the fancy parts your way.
Bolt-on neck with frets and dual-action truss rod, predrilled and routed body, two volumes and two tones, pre-sanded everything. The veneer top reads completely different under different finishes — translucent oil for vintage warmth, dark stain for moody jazz-club energy, clear satin if you trust your wood enough to let it speak. Each top has its own grain story, so no two builds end up looking alike.
Shipped from the USA, backed by Vibeworks. If a part shows up defective, we replace it free — no return shipping, no "send us a video," no nonsense. The DIY Guitar Kit your bench has been waiting for.

I received my kit in a very timely manner. It was packaged well, so no worries there. All of the wood pieces are machined well and just need a finish sanding. I have not started in the build yet so I can’t speak on the quality of the electronics but they seem to be of decent quality for the price. The frets look good and could be played as they are but I will polish them up a little more. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this kit. I would definitely recommend it.

A beautiful addition to my collection.
This build was really fun. I liked that the pots and the switch were pre-wired. The figure of the burl was amazing. I did not want any of the burl to be hidden by the black pickguard that came with the kit, so I made a clear one out of Lexan. This required that I replace the neck pickup with a Humbucker- no big deal, I had one on hand.
The best part came when I put on the finish. I use Waterlox, and the results are fantastic. The figured grain takes on three dimensional effect, almost like a hologram. The final results were excellent: looks good, sounds great!
