The neck is maple and scarf joint type, but feels really good. Frets feel polished and level. truss rod works as it should. The body is ash, requiring a lot of grain fill for a nitro glossy top, but not that hard to fill. Would be better if it was maple or even mahogany. Neck fit into neck pocket really nice. Pick-up and control cavity really nice. would have liked the bridge screws predrilled, but watch a youtube video and its not too hard to get the bridge installed. The tuners are ok. not as nice as hipshot or other brand name, but seem to work fine. same with the bridge - very usable. The rest of the electronics look of very low quality. I've never seen such small pots. For a very small amount of money I ordered new CTS posts, knobs, and cloth covered wire. The pickups work but i ordered Seymour Duncan replacements (sjb-1 and their Rick neck) used on reverb for $150. i think this will be a big improvement.
All-in-all a good kit and fun project. I would trade the supplied pickups for higher quality controls and use a different wood for the body. Other than that, highly recommend.
