Overall, a solid kit. Thorough instructions.
I am a woodworker (and musician) and was looking for a diversion as well as wanting to dabble in guitar construction. Plus I always wanted a resonator.
I Iucked out on the guitar's action & intonation.
I gave the kit 4 rather than 5 stars, mainly because of what I would consider factory carelessness, regarding at least two things. I know I needed to inspect it, but where would I have drawn the line in asking for replacement parts? So I forged ahead and made do.
I spent an inordinate amount of time clearing up glue splashes. Second, there were two locations on the body where randomly drilled holes had to be patched, sanded, etc. As a woodworker, I knew what had to be done, though it was annoying. For someone less equipped, this could have been frustrating.
Last, the neck (my fault for not spotting this before setting neck) has a spot where a gouge or something was epoxied. Doesn't affect playability, but not something I want to see when I pick up the guitar.
So, it turned out well and was a good experience. I think that I would recommend vibeworks to friends.
Thanks.
