Overall what came with this kit was very workable. I swapped out some of the hardware with some higher quality stuff (Grover tuning machines, different bridge). I also put in some Lindy Fralin split jazz bass pickups. I will say, it is a HEAVY bass guitar, but it feels solid. The main stock part that I had trouble with was the string retainer; the pilot hole for it was about 1.5 cm too far over and was causing the G string to slip out. I had to drill a new pilot hole for it and move the string retainer. After that, everything is working great. Aside from that, I had tried to change the pick guard to something a little less... floppy, but found that the Vibeworks design, while looking very, very similar to the real deal has measurements that are slightly off, so there are basically no aftermarket options to change the pick guard out. They potentiometers are also not 3/8" stem, but rather an 8mm stem, which again, has few options without drilling out bigger holes for. So, a few nuisances that could have made life a little easier, but I was able to work it all out in the end, and am happy with the finished product.
