The HB Hollow Body Style DIY Guitar Kit is the original of the lineage — basswood body, maple top, twin humbuckers, and the resonant, slightly chimey personality of a proper hollow-body electric. The build that started this whole hollow-body chapter for us.
Set-in neck, tune-o-matic bridge, predrilled and routed for two humbuckers, two volumes, and two tones. Pre-sanded and ready for a finish that does the hollow body justice — translucent stains read especially well over the maple top. Plays jazzy, plays rocky, plays anywhere in between.
Made and shipped from the USA. Backed by Vibeworks — defective parts replaced free, no return needed. Build your own guitar that doesn't pick a single genre. Hollow bodies are versatility tools dressed up like vintage beauty queens — you don't have to commit to one sound to play them well.
Predrilled and routed body
Neck with frets and dual-action truss rod installed
Bridge and turning hardware
Pickups, Pots, and Wiring Components
All wood parts are pre-sanded, ready for your final sanding and a finish to be applied.
Some bodies and/or necks may have binding in place
Upon receiving the guitar kit I found that one of the tuning pegs had the wrong size nut. That issue was resolved quickly which really appreciated. The wire in the kit is insufficient to build the wire harness for the HB build. Many of the lengths were too short. Suggest reviewing this for future kits. I plan to begin assembly in a few weeks after the finishing work is complete. We’ll see how any customer support goes if I run into any issues. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback.

Nice kit. Wish there was an option to purchase without the hardware so I can use what I want. Would lower the cost a little.

Great experience for a first timer.
Received my kit right when it got too cold to work in my unheated garage, so outside of a few coats of paint and a rough sand, I completed the entire kit on my kitchen table. I really like the quality of the wood, the binding, and the neck/fretboard. At the time, the written wiring diagram was a little ambiguous for a first timer, but since then, they have uploaded a video showing how to wire the guitar. So I highly recommend this kit. I don't need another guitar, but I sure want to assemble and finish another kit.
